SAP HANA Cloud’s knowledge graph engine is now integrated with metaphactory, a semantic layer platform built entirely on RDF, SPARQL, SHACL, and OWL. Note: not a proprietary graph format, not a vector database wearing a knowledge graph disguise. Nope, the actual W3C stack.

I wrote a while ago that SAP already ships a native RDF triplestore inside HANA Cloud, with SQL/SPARQL interoperability. That alone is a signal. They also shipped a one-step property graph-to- RDF conversion. If you’ve spent any time in the LPG vs. RDF debate, you know how rare it is for a vendor to build a bridge instead of picking a side. Thumbs up. Now, metaphactory brings governance, versioning, editorial workflows, AI-assisted ontology modeling…the unglamorous infrastructure that determines whether a knowledge graph survives past the pilot phase. Most KG failures I’ve seen aren’t modeling failures but governance failures.
