Mentor: a VS Code extension for RDF

Mentor is a VS Code extension that gives RDF knowledge graph work first-class IDE treatment: syntax highlighting and linting across Turtle, TriG, N-Quads, and RDF/XML; auto-complete for prefixes and resources as you type; a workspace tree that surfaces problems across the entire project; and a definitions panel that exposes class and property hierarchies with structural OWL reasoning without leaving the editor.
The SPARQL integration is where it earns its keep in production work. You get connection management, query execution, auto-completion, and interactive notebooks that mix SPARQL, RDF content, and Markdown in a single document. The kind of thing that turns a one-off investigation into reproducible, shareable analysis.
The message here is also that knowledge graph development deserves the same toolchain discipline we already take for granted with typed languages. Things like refactoring support, cross-file reference tracking, format conversion. These aren’t extras, they’re the baseline for working at scale.
